Having his father, James D. Dyer, the founder of HMA, as a remarkable role model, Mark D. Dyer is governed by the principles of hard work, disciplined decisions, keeping yourself and employees motivated, a drive for superiority, honesty and character. With 27 years with the company, Mark has grown to the top through merit, hard work and by constantly learning how to better whatever office he found himself.
Mark started his journey in the industry in October 1991, working in Provider Relations and Sales. He moved up the ranks, serving as Supervisor, Manager, Director, Senior Director and then Vice President. In the different capacities he served as, he learned immensely how sales and operations function in the HMA companies. With all the knowledge he was able to harness in this time, he focused on the company’s Preferred Provider Networks (PPO). He developed the framework it presently works by and grew it to a health plan that is accepted in all 50 states. He also successfully sold HMA’s Third Party Administration (TPA) services. His expertise in Sales and Marketing was instrumental in successfully sealing one of HMA’s longest and largest clients, a relationship that has lasted for 20 years now.
Mark got his BS in Business Administration and Marketing from the Grand Canyon University. While he was in school he was fully involved in sports and most importantly basketball as he was involved in collegiate basketball.
When not working, Mark enjoys his time involved in sport, but most especially, his favorite, basketball. He cherishes time with his friends and family, of 5 children whom he adores very much.
